A New Inspiration – a showcase of dances that build on yound people's inherent enjoyment of moving. The repertoire captures the energy and emotion of enthusiastic youths as well as their passion for dance - a communication not with words but body movements. The novel blend of various dance forms promises to initiate you to reflect on your motivation in life and enliven your drive to transcend boundaries, to turn dreams into reality.

The title of the performance embodies a dual meaning: the bringing in of new ideas by the young and the rekindling of passion by the older generation. This show is the heartwork of a group of devoted teens whose dedication to pursue a passion in performing arts will hopefully touch and rejuvenate the earlier generations, encouraging them to progress and to move on strongly.

This production also serves as a platform for our budding choreographers to showcase their originality on a professional stage.

Childlike Happiness

Choreographer: Marvin Chan Jia Wei

True happiness emanates from the pureness of the heart like that of a child, a child whose dreams are true and untainted. We will attain genuine, innocent and everlasting happiness from the deepest of our heart, if we allow it to portray and bloom naturally.

Hope

Choreographer: Ng Guo Hao

Stay unfettered when faced with despairs in life. Somewhere there is a concealed hope of light. Once awakened will reveal a guiding path so bright. Bringing strength to make miracles come alive.

Choreographer: Kenneth Tan Ting Feng

From the dawn of man to the distant future, the need to go faster and has led to several inventions to increase our speed to increase our speed to the maximum. The advances through time have left us entangled in a never ending race, a race to be faster, to keep up with the others.

Embrace new beginning, learn from past endings. Enjoy life but never waste it without thinking.

One can liken life to an unlit lamp, once blazed it sets new hopes aglow, promising a journey of resplendence and jubilance.

Never Since

Choreographer: Oei Chu Yan Janice

I am shaped by me beliefs, but I am not be the person I hope to be. I may seem alone, yet I may not. Through the beginning I thought I was certain, but never since.

Forgotten Yesterdays

Choreographer: Yap Seok Hui

Why do we love for yesterday, and for things not seen tomorrow? Where did we go today, when we had so much more to follow?

I will always remember our yesterdays, and look forward to our tomorrows. Because everyone makes all our todays… And they will always include you.

Journey of Time

Choreographer: Tan Wei Ling Padma

Bitterness, exuberance, foreboding, indigence. Besieged by a mélange of emotions, that never seems in sync with time. Its ticking paces us but not our encounters. No rules, no regulations; yet conflicts, contradictions. Then do I let time lead my life?

Simplicity

Choreographer: Viv Phua Muiling

Amidst the haste, pause and notice things you have not observe from a different light. Life may not be as complex, it’s merely a matter of perspective.

Sensuality

Choreographer: Cindy Zhuang

Step in confidence, reveal with poise. A celebration of sensuality in a fusion of salsa and jazz.

Trans-Impetus

Choreographer: Liz Fong Huey Jun

Life, apathy and repression flickers. Awe is, the innate impetus to propel through.
